LAHORE: Pakistanis recorded their name in the Guinness Book of World Records for the second time in one week after 24,200 people made the world’s largest human flag at the National Hockey Stadium, Lahore.



The atmosphere was filled with roars of joy as a representative of the Guinness Book announced the success of the Pakistani youth present in creating a new record. The record was previously held by Portugal when on May 17, 2006, Portuguese women formed the world’s largest human flag.



The day was marked as an effort to bring back the peaceful image of Pakistan as youth from all parts of the Punjab gathered at Lahore’s National Hockey Stadium to unite and form the world’s largest human flag.



The participants said they were showing a beautiful image of Pakistan to the rest of the world and expressing were showing the beautiful image of Pakistan to the rest of the world and expressing their unity under the flag of Pakistan.



The venue for the event was carefully arranged as thousands of boxes were made to position the students and organize them to form the Pakistani flag. Students poured into the stadium as organizers supervised them to ensure they left no loops in making the Guinness Record.



Students have come out to show their unity and stand with the people of Pakistan to ensure that no external powers should underestimate Pakistan’s strength, which relies on Unity, Faith and Discipline, Said Rabia Khan, a student who had volunteered to be a part of this record.



Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Mashood, who was also present, said the record represented the exuberance and patriotism of Pakistani youth and the Punjab Government’s resolve to channelize the energy.
